Quinta Da Cima Golf

Quinta Da Chima Golf CourseEighteen holes skilfully scattered by an area of 620.000 m2, the Cima Course show themselves very competitive with dog-legs to the right and to the left and greens well protected by sand hazards and lakes, particularly holes 16, 17 and 18. A stream with dams and permanent flowing water crosses holes 4, 5, 6 and 13. The course is bordered to the north by the National Road 125 and spreads to the south, where its limits are a municipal road that leads to the Quinta Da Ria Course.
Quinta Da Chima Golf CourseThe greens have been seeded with Bent Crenshaw. Tees and fairways are covered with Zoysia.
In one of the Driving Ranges, with generous dimensions and built in the south/north direction, when hitting from the northern tees, one may appreciate a magnificent view of the mountains as well as of the Ocean. But from any part of the course, both the sea and the Algarvean mountains are a delight to anyone's eyes.
Quinta Da Chima Golf CourseOn the other Driving Range, designed to practice with irons, there is the Robinson Golf Academy. It comprises 3 greens and 6 tees to the teaching of the different types of game with irons, namely how to get off a bunker to a green 120 m distant.
Since there will be no real estate construction on the site, the Cima Course is indeed a paradise to those golfers who love to be always in contact with nature.

Quinta Da Chima Golf CoursePro Tips.

The opening par 5 and 2nd par 3 put things in perspective. Good club selection and accuracy off the tee are essential. The par 4 third is a severe dog-leg left and while not particularly at 316m, strategic bunkering dictates how best to arrive at a tricky green. A very pretty par 4 follows that features a stream across the fairway in front of the small green. The approach needs to fly high to avoid trees that also protect the putting surface. The long par 5 sixth (500m) demands a thoughtful 2nd shot. Some 130m from the green, the stream again cuts the fairway. The 186m 8th is the longest par 3 on the course. The green is a tricky shape and you should watch your line. Not an easy hole. Most of the par 4s are relatively long: between 360 & 415m. Wind direction can greatly influence the choice of iron or wood for the shot in. And then of course, there is the water. The 14th, par 4 is a good example. The stream crossing the fairway is blind from the tee, so you may end up taking a drop. 15 is a 388m par 4 and from the tee there are 8 bunkers in view, 5 of which force you to play left. The 16th a magnificent par-5. The stream crosses the fairway to a lake and you must hit a good 2nd and a bold 3rd shot to have any hope of par. The 18th from an elevated tee to a slick green with trick undulations, will ensure you come back here time and again.
