La Cala Golf Resort

La Cala Golf Resort

La Cala Resort offers three superb 18-hole golf courses and is the largest golf resort in Spain.

Campo America (La Cala Resort)

La Cala Golf Resort

Campo America (formerly The North Course) is the longest of the three layouts at La Cala stretching over 6,500 yards. Starting with three flat holes, it becomes much more testing once you reach the par 3, 4th. With bunkers and a ravine guarding the green, an accurate tee shot is required to post a good number here. Possibly the best hole on the

course however, is the 16th which offers spectacular views of the entire resort and the coastline. Like all the par 3s here, 16 is no different, with bunkers on the left and a lake running around the front of the green; once again, precision is the key to a good score.

18 holes. Par 72. 6009 metres, 6571 yards. Parkland.

Campo AsiaCampo Asia (La Cala Resort)

Campo Asia is also pretty spectacular. With plenty of challenging holes along the way, you are guaranteed a testing round of golf. Water guards both greens at the 3rd and the

14th and in terms of a test of golf course strategy, the 18th couldn't be much better. Just remember not to over-club off the tee or this lengthy par 5 could well wreck your scorecard.

18 holes. Par 72. 5925 metres, 6479 yards. Parkland.

Campo Europa (La Cala Resort)

La Cala Golf Resort

As with Campo America and Campo Asia, this course was designed by Cabell B. Robinson. An excellent test, it is the latest addition to the resort and is spread over 108 hectares of land. A lot of attention went into protecting the surrounding vegetation (lavender, rockrose, rosemary and palmettos can be found all around the course) and as a result, the 6,576 yard layout is as stunning as it is challenging. Great use is made of the Ojen River, which cuts its way through eight of the holes and is a cunning hazard on all of them. The course is a great example of the modern game, with wide-open

fairways and large greens for the high handicappers and some very long holes to test the more able golfer. For example the par 3, 14th measure 254 yards from the back tees and the par 5, 11th measures 573 yards.

18 holes. Par 71. 6014 metres, 6576 yards. Parkland.

David Leadbetter Golf Academy

In addition to the sensational 54 holes of golf on offer, La Cala also has Spain’s only David Leadbetter Golf Academy. Practice facilities include a testing 6-hole par three course, a SAM Putting Lab, a grass driving range and putting and chipping greens.
