Golden Eagle Golf

Golden Eagle golf course (Quinta Do Brincal)  consists of two 18 hole courses.
These courses offers a test to the best of all golfers. The courses includes rolling fairways that are surrounded by an abundance of bunkers and water, which make tee shots crucial to keep to the fairways. The golfer will face large greens with many slopes, so the right club choice becomes crucial in order to get the low scores.

This course is located close to the town of Rio Maior and is about 60 kilometres north of Lisbon. Due to recently constructed motorways it is within comfortable reach of the capital. The essence of the play on this course is accuracy. A good example can be found on the par-4 fifteenth hole. This is strategically placed so that trees impede the line of the second shot and it is essential for these trees to be carried. The number three hole presents a challenging shot over a water hazard onto a challenging shallow green.

"Signature Holes"

Hole 7 - Par 4
The hole is a slight dogleg right to left which requires a straight drive. Too far left means you will may be playing your second shot from a bunker. On the right side you will be Out of Bounds. Your second shot will have to avoid several large pine trees hampering the approach shot to the green. The green is two-tiered so placement is key for a two putt.

Hole 8 - Par 5
One of the longer holes in Portugal! There is Out of Bounds on the right side running the length of the fairway. Well placed bunkers placed left and right will collect any sliced or pushed shot. there is a water hazard within easy reach of the second shot, whilst bunkers circling the enormous green will place weight on the choice of club.

Hole 11 - Par 4
The tee shot should be aimed left of centre to avoid a large water hazard. A steady iron across the water to an elevated green will par within the players reach.
