Alcaidesa Golf

Alcaidesa Golf CourseDesigned by Peter Allis and Clive Clark, this is the closest to an authentic links course to be found in Andalusia.
The layout is spectacular throughout the course: bordering the beach, there is no escaping the silent, majestic presence of the Rock of Gibralta and the Atlas Mountains of Africa mark the distant horizon. The course is scattered with gorse and heather, and is great fun to play when there is a soft seabreeze in the air.
It is not all low-lying however there are some windswept heights, aswell as water features. If the breeze is stiff it can be difficult to stay on line. The fairways are generously wide, making this course well suited to players of all ages and abilities who want to hit straight, rather than bending the ball left or right. The greens are not oversized or too tricky.

Alcaidesa Golf Course Views

Alcaidesa is the only links course in Spain meeting competition standards, Alcaidesa is now easily accessible from all locations along the coast with the advent of the new motorway. The course presents views of the Rock of Gibraltar and on a sunny day one can view the Atlas Mountains in North Africa.

A face lift was given to the course in 1999 resulting in the further development of Spain's link course. Fairways have been improved and widened and greens have been leveled off. It runs along the coast line at Cadiz with some hilly holes and the Mediterranean Sea breeze increases the challenge during the winter.

Alcaidesa Golf CourseAlthough a links course, Alcaidesa can be enjoyed by all golf players since the type of soil, layout and breadth of the landing areas are well suited to players of all ages and abilities.
